Stories Forged From Truth
John Frank Uranday is a filmmaker who tells stories from the inside out. His work is rooted in lived experience, in struggle, survival, ambition, and redemption and shaped by a belief that cinema should feel like truth, not performance.
He doesn’t create characters from observation. He creates them from memory. From community. From the weight of consequence and the hope that refuses to die.
His films live in the tension between grit and heart, stories about people navigating power, identity, and moral crossroads. Latino voices are not background texture in his work; they are central, complex, and unapologetically human.
Uranday’s storytelling refuses to shrink itself to fit trends. He builds narratives that challenge, provoke, and resonate, stories that move fast, hit hard, and stay with you. As technology evolves and platforms shift, his mission remains steady: tell culturally rooted stories with global emotional impact.
He is not chasing permission.
He is building space.

The Relaunch: CUTM Films Steps Into the Future
CUTM Films is a Latino-owned independent production company led by CEO John Frank Uranday, creating culturally rooted, genre-driven stories across film, television, vertical series, and AI animation.
The company produced For The Record: The Story of Latinos in Hip Hop, featuring pioneers like Kid Frost. A resurfaced clip discussing Eazy-E surpassed 6 million views, reigniting conversation around Latino contributions to hip-hop culture.
CUTM Films also released the independent feature Cruisin’, starring Noel G., delivering authentic Latino storytelling before streaming platforms prioritized Latino-led content.
After a strategic creative partnership with Penwheel Universe, where Uranday directed award-winning films including Lost Souls, #Trolledsos and Depth of Field. A time that helped elevate Mr. Uranday and his journey as a well rounded creative artist.
CUTM Films is now relaunching with a bold focus on the future. Current projects include the Latino-led vertical series UNFOLLOWED and OFFICIALLY DESPERATE, the television pilot Zaddies starring Roberto Sanchez, Quinton Aaron, and Alexis Knapp, and the fully AI-animated series Mallpocalypse.
CUTM Films is building a new lane for Latino storytelling, independent, digital-first, and unapologetically forward.
